12 Scots pine and European larch tree trunks with perforations
Commissioned by The Tyrebagger Trust and The Forestry Commission

‘Skylines’ was constructed from 12 massive trunks of Scots pine and European larch. Each stands about 16 metres high and they collectively form a straight line 35 metres long. The line stands as a kind marker in the boundless landscape, an illusory border. 40 holes are drilled into each trunk to let the wind pass through and allow the viewer to peer through, re-framing and homing in on forgotten details in the vastness of their surroundings.
